Trump Says the Establishment and the News Media Deemed Bernie Sanders a Sexist, a Racist, a Xenophobe and Morally Deformed
“The establishment and their media neighbors wield control over this nation through means that are very well known,” Mr. Trump told a crowd in West Palm Beach, Fla., on Thursday. “Anyone who challenges their control is deemed a sexist, a racist, a xenophobe and morally deformed. They will attack you. They will slander you. They will seek to destroy your career and your family. They will seek to destroy everything about you including your reputation. They will lie, lie, lie, and then again, they will do worse than that. They will do whatever’s necessary.”
— Partisan Crowds at Trump Rallies Menace and Frighten News Media, Nick Corasaniti, New York Times, yesterday
If I’d read, say, the New York Times and the Washington Post during the primary season, I never would have supported Bernie all those many months. Unless, of course, I’d figured out that they were just making it all up and that Bernie isn’t a sexist, a racist, a xenophobe and morally deformed.
Either that or ….
Trump is a jackhole, but he didn’t say that. His only reference to Sanders explicitly was about the leaked emails and debate prep.
Actually, Sigh, Trump said explicitly that. Unless you don’t count Sanders as “anyone.”
That’s really strange for me. I’m an avid reader of the NY Times, if not fully enamored with some of their news coverage or editorial positions. Did my delivery person steal pages out of my daily copy, NY metro edition, because I don’t recall much negativity in the Times about Bernie Sanders. Certainly I missed the editorial content indicating that Bernie is a sexist, a racist, a xenophobe and morally deformed. Come to think about it I don’t even recall the HRC campaign making such accusations.
I doubt the Trump has mistaken the NY Post or Daily News for the NY Times because I hadn’t seen any such commentary in those two low brow journals in regards to Bernie either. Come to think about it, hasn’t Trump previously noted that he doesn’t read newspapers? I
Obviously, Jack, you get a different edition of the Times than the Donald does. And while he doesn’t normally read newspapers, he did make an exception for the editions that tried to destroy Bernie’s career and family by claiming that he’s a sexist, a racist, a xenophobe and morally deformed.
I’ve got it. Donald must be watching too much Fox News on cable TV. The Fox shows aren’t well known for adhering to the facts of a matter. But then again he’s got Steve Bannon, the head of Breitbart News as the CEO of his campaign. That gives him a leg up on conspiracies, real and imagined.
I’m curious to know, had there ever been a front running candidate for the Presidency that is so patently absurd, crass, and dishonest. And that goes for Trump and his entire campaign hierarchy.
No. And I’m really glad that Kellyanne Conway is finally being recognized as the loop-job, con artist and bald liar that she is.
Jack,
Answer Hillary, Bill Clinton and Obama……
Next debate look at Clintons smirk (posture, eye movement, facial pose, tone of voice, etc) as she changes to subject to Donald’s sex talk.
Ilsm,
Are you saying that HRC was attempting to coax sex talk out of Trump by smiling at him? Your reference is a bit confusing. Isn’t it the Donald that uses a proliferation of hand and finger gestures together with facial grimacing in his effort to drive home his points? At the last debate did the Donald not roam the stage in a strange manner often putting himself behind Clinton as she addressed the audience? I won’t speculate as to what he was looking for or at at those moments.
Jack,
Ilsm is basically saying “she asked for it”.
There comes a time when discussion has no purpose. Time to walk away and just not deal with some people. I just do not know who is worse, the GOP base or the far left with their “wall street” schtick.
“Regardless, in the end, people are still gonna vote for this man. Maybe not enough to get him elected, but still: it’ll be in the tens of millions. (Note to the people causing the polls to fluctuate: What the fuck is wrong with you? I gotta meet the five percent of people who saw Hillary come down with pneumonia and were like, “Forget her, gimme the dictator with dryer lint hair.”) Nothing that Trump says, no damning piece of Trump reportage, and certainly no opinion piece like this one will stop his voters from pulling the lever. Nor will anything stop Trump from being the officious, braindead goon that he is. He will never answer for his crimes, and there’s a frighteningly large portion of the electorate that will always love him for that.
And so I’d just like to say to that portion of the electorate: Fuck you. No, seriously. Go fuck yourselves. I’m not gonna waste any more time trying to convince you that you’re about to do something you’ll regret forever. I’m not gonna show you old clips of Trump saying rotten things. I’m not gonna try to ANNIHILATE Trump by showing you records of his hypocrisy and greed. I’m not gonna link to a John Oliver clip and be like, “THIS. So much this.” Nothing’s gonna take down Trump at this point, so I’m not gonna bother. No no, this post is for ME. I am preaching to the sad little choir in my soul here.
Because while Trump is a miserable bastard, YOU are the people who have handed him the bullhorn. YOU are the people willing to embarrass this nation and put it on the brink of economic ruin all because you wanna throw an electoral hissy fit. YOU are the people who want to revolutionize the way America does business by voting for its worst businessman, a disgusting neon pig who only makes money when he causes problems for other people instead of solving them. YOU are the thin-skinned yokels who clutch your bandoliers whenever someone hurls the mildest of slurs at you (“deplorables”), while cheering Trump on as he leaves a bonfire of truly hateful invective everywhere he goes. YOU are the people willing to overlook the fact that Trump is an unqualified, ignorant sociopath because DURRRR HILLARY IS BAD TOO DURRRR.
You know what? No, she’s not. She’s fine. I lived through one Clinton, and I can live through another. My reasons for hating Trump are better than your reasons for hating Hillary. Show me all the arguments against her you like. You guys don’t give a shit about facts and research when it comes to Trump, so I’m not gonna give a shit about whatever clumsy meme you cook up to explain why she did Benghazi. Nope. Sorry. Fuck your arguments, and fuck you. Trump has shown no respect for anyone, so I don’t see why you deserve any either. Whatever mildly frustrating centrist liberal bureaucracy that Hillary presides over will be fine compared to the spray tan mushroom cloud that would arise all because YOU thought Trump was such a brave, un-PC dickhead to everyone within shouting distance.
Trump is human waste. He is the worst of America stuffed into a nacho cheese casing, and he is emblematic of the kind of arrogant, flag-waving, trashy, racist moron that the rest of us have to DRAG kicking and screaming into the 21st century: Cliven Bundy, Sean Hannity, Kim Davis, and on and on and on. Trump voters are the people who have spent the past decade or so voting insipid obstructionists into office, sending death threats to anyone who even mentions the idea of gun control, demanding 100% tax cuts on millions of dollars they can only daydream about making, and getting suckered in by any Oil Party candidate waving a NO GAYS flag. Fuck them. These are needy hillbilly loons who are just as starved for attention as Trump himself. And voting for Trump is their way of emulating him, of saying FUCK YOU to everyone else as a mission statement, with no regard for the fallout. ”

Drew Magary of GQ.com is who you think has the right opinions and views! Let me see a bit of his world views as in “I got a camera up my dick: a memoir”??? This is who you choose to quote to represent your values? You and him both should be interned in the psycho ward of a mental institution for yours and everybody’s security. Your real talent is only in mane calling and insulting as a prolific idiot who in most posts speal the misguided values of hate, name calling, insults, stupidity, and nonsense…New learning must take place for change to occur. Progress and change cannot take place if we are satisfied with the current conditions and situations E.M you and many others must learn and grow and not to resist change because you want to sit in your comfort zone that you and Magary are afraid to move on…
Comfort zone?
As he said,
“YOU are the people who want to revolutionize the way America does business by voting for its worst businessman, a disgusting neon pig who only makes money when he causes problems for other people instead of solving them. ”
Trump is everything his supporters have hated their lives. But he “trumps” that by matching his supporters racism, religious suppression and misogynistic comments.
You fit in there somewhere.
“…the insurance [sic] that Citizens United will never be overturned.”
You want the Supremes to do what they did in King v. Burwell, and just rewrite the law to fit your agenda? The LAW says that corporations come under the definition of PEOPLE.
Not sure what the “sic” after “insurance” is for, but huge percentages of the public believe–accurately–that rewriting the law–constitutional law, specifically–is exactly what the 5-4 Court majority did in Citizens United.
Nice try Warren, but the law says no such thing. Over the long course of history there have been many judicial interpretations of the Constitution that have allowed specific laws to treat corporations as they might an individual, but that has never been supported by a specific law. Nor is that interpretation of corporate personhood itself uninfringed. While the 14th Amendment extends to corporations, the extent of that attachment is still hled in question by many in the legal theory community.
TITLE 52. VOTING AND ELECTIONS
Chapter 301—Federal Election Campaigns
Subchapter 1—Disclosure of Federal Campaign Funds
§ 30101. Definitions
When used in this Act:
(11) The term “person” includes an individual, partnership,
committee, association, corporation, labor organization, or any other
organization or group of persons, but such term does not include the
Federal Government or any authority of the Federal Government.

Warren, surely you understand that that section of the statute pertains to disclosure of the identity of the donor, and does not purport to provide corporations with First Amendment speech rights that cannot be limited by statute.
You do, right? Or maybe you don’t.
Beverly, I put “[sic]” after “insurance” because it is the wrong word.
ASSURANCE is the correct one. I assumed it was a misspelling, not ignorance or meaning.
No, actually I meant “insurance,” not “assurance.” The justices themselves are the insurance. The president provides the assurance during the campaign or when considering an appointment.
Warren,
That is how that specific law was changed to encompass the Supreme Court decision. That does not mean that the application of individual rights
to corporations and similar aggregations of people is guaranteed by the Constitution in all general.
Beverly, what is the payout value of that “insurance”? If Trump IS elected, and Citizens United is overturned, how much money will the policy-holders get?
“That is how that specific law was changed to encompass the Supreme Court decision.”
Wrong again, Jack. See the 1979 law here, page 372:
