No Kings Day
I was wondering where Joel my fellow writer was today. Normally when I get up out here in Arizona, I see his words.
I thought perhaps he was ill. Not so . . . As I read one of his comments elsewhere from yesterday, Joel is out doing what many of us should be doing . . . protesting the actions of a rogue president. Joel . . .
“Why did Speaker Mike Johnson say the No Kings protest is anti-American when he knows that the Boston Tea Party protest and the no-kings Declaration of Independence were all-American?
That’s easy. Trump’s fee-fees were hurt. Donald called Mike and explained that the election meant that Trump *is* America and any protests against Trump are attacks on America. Mike ran with it and sent the memo to the Trump tribe. They’re all parroting it.
I’m sure they’re hoping that the Trumpenproletariat will attack protesters tomorrow, providing a pretense for federal intervention–invoking the Insurrection Act.
The No Kings protests will be peaceful. If there is violence tomorrow, it will come from counter-protests (or worse) on the right.
I’ll be protesting tomorrow on behalf of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, John Hancock, etc. YMMV.”

I walked today in solidarity with my future congresswoman, Adelita Grijalva.
It’s amazing how afraid Mike Johnson is of one 54 year old Latina woman.
Since we fought a revolution over taxation without representation, can us Tucson residents now stop paying taxes.
Jim:
I am up here in Maricopa. I agree that little wimp is getting too big for his britches. Next up is my AZ Congressional Representative Eli Crance. Mikie is depriving AZ of Representation in The House.
Just posted on this issue.
I wrote this back in February, but it seems appropriate for “No Kings Day.”
A Poem For The Times
Sometimes I wonder,
How America could blunder,
So bad…
Sometimes I cry,
Other times I just sigh,
It sucks…
We’re better than this, I know,
There must be a reason, although…
It happened…
Certainly, Americans aren’t going to succumb,
To the cruel, the mean, the deranged & dumb,
Are they?…
We’ve come so far to let it all go down,
Would we trade it away for a king with a crown?
Oh God…
