Mr. Rogers Wants to Go to Washington Again
Carpetbagger Mikie Rogers Trying to Become a Michigan Senator Again. He could not beat Stabenow (won by ~ 1 million votes) and he was not about to take on Peters who won by 500,000 votes over a different candidate. Rogers had a disliking for the ACA and did not have much to offer in place of it. Was not much of a people’s Representative either. He was a big business politician. A more recent take of Mike Rogers 14 years as a Michigan Congressional Representative is offered here:
Polehanki said during a virtual press conference last week. “It’s disheartening to me that Michiganders are reporting that they’re losing faith in politicians. But Mike Rogers is a perfect example. I am going to be voting for and supporting candidates for office, Democrats who we can trust, who are putting their constituents first and aren’t interested in enriching themselves by shady self-dealing. Those who are not engaged in just extreme hypocrisy that can’t be overlooked.” The Gander.
Polehanki, US Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Michigan), End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller, and Mike Huerta, the president of the United Auto Workers union Local 602 in Lansing, teamed up last week to shine a light on Rogers’ lengthy record of catering to special interests in Congress—and to warn Michiganders not to give him another chance to represent Michigan.
“There’s a lot at stake for hardworking Michiganders in this year’s election and in the Senate race, Mike Rogers … has shown time and time again that he only cares about his own bottom line, even when his work is to just enrich himself at Michiganders expense,” Stevens said. “We’re going to make sure that [voters] know who Mike Rogers is as he is not for them.”
Rogers served seven terms in Congress before announcing his retirement in 2014, moving to a mansion in Florida, and making tens of millions of dollars in various corporate board positions.
Where is Mr. Rogers’ neighborhood? Michigan Advance
Where does former Michigan U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers live?
Rogers has stood out in the crowded GOP field for an open U.S. Senate seat, having been recruited last year by the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Records show Rogers, 60, owns homes in Michigan and Florida, but is registered to vote at a different Michigan address.
Rogers, who retired from a Michigan U.S. House seat in 2015, was living in Florida and was registered to vote there before deciding to run for office again in Michigan in 2023, per the Detroit News.
Now Mike Rogers wants to walk back into Michigan after leaving in 2013-2014 for the South. He knew he could not win against Stabenow and then Peters. He most recently lost to Slotkin recently, a candidate I met, supported, and did not really like. I knew her when she initially ran.

One overused and abused comment I see frequently is the phrase “hardworking Americans of insert your state or city . . .” In this case it is used to represent Michiganders. In reality, they do not need to use it to describe the constituency about Mike Rogers the man from Florida or was it Alabama?
Michigan is automotive country. If you are not a direct employee, you are probably working for a tier. If so, you are working hard and probably overtime too.
Just a beef.
