“We’ll Own It”
It was mid-January 2025 Angry Bear had mentioned in a commentary about Jared Kushner thoughts on The Gaza. The brief comment was in “Undercounting The Gaza Death Toll,” Angry Bear.
Enough is enough. They have extracted their pound of flesh. Maybe it is the beach front property Jared Kushner was reported to have talked about as detailed in The Guardian and motivating them to clear the area of the population in the Gaza?
Jared Kushner says The Gaza’s ‘waterfront property could be very valuable,’ The Guardian.
“It’s a little bit of an unfortunate situation there, but from Israel’s perspective I would do my best to move the people out and then clean it up,” Kushner said. “But I don’t think that Israel has stated that they don’t want the people to move back there afterwards.”
“Gaza’s waterfront property could be very valuable … if people would focus on building up livelihoods,” Kushner told his interviewer, the faculty chair of the Middle East Initiative, Prof Tarek Masoud. Kushner also lamented “all the money” that had gone into the territory’s tunnel network and munitions instead of education and innovation.

AB: If the Palestinians leave The Gaza, it is unlikely they will ever be allowed back. If Anyone is interested in rebuilding The Gaza, it should be done with the Palestinians still there.

‘We’ll Own It’: Trump Floats US Takeover of Gaza—After Ethnically Cleansing Palestinians,” Common Dreams
U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the United States will “take over” Gaza after emptying the embattled enclave of nearly all of its Palestinians.
Speaking during a press conference with fugitive Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, Trump told reporters, “The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too.”
“We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site, and get rid of the destroyed buildings—level it out and create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area,” Trump continued.
Doubling down on his January call for the removal of most of Gaza’s population to Egypt and Jordan—both of which vehemently rejected the proposal—Trump said that “it would be my hope that we could do something really nice, really good, where [Palestinians] wouldn’t want to return.”
“Why would they want to return?” asked Trump. “The place has been hell.”
Asked how many Palestinians should leave Gaza, Trump replied, “all of them,” citing a figure of 1.7-1.8 million Palestinians out of an estimated population of approximately 2.3 million people.

Any resort built over Palestinian graves in Gaza will be a permanent terrorist target.

Trump is such an ass; such an embarrassment to the U.S.; and the epitome of an ignorant, deranged, idiot. With no regard to international interests & backlash, what makes Trump think that the U.S. should swoop in and take over a sovereign territory with troops on the ground to have the newly falsely created (just like DOGE), U.S. Department of Land Development, capitalize on the beachfront property in Gaza. Does he think there are no enterprising Palestinians that could leverage their current situation with the international community to do the same on their own territory and share the benefits and wealth with their people?
No, that thought never occurred to him. Only he could have such a brilliant thought. It’s the same demented brain that now wants to take over Canada, Greenland, and Panama. Now, as some of his also demented minions are trying to make up excuses, and twisted justifications for what he said, others are trying to walk back the whole idea as some sort of misinterpreted “opening bid” in a generous US offer to rebuild Gaza.
Finally, Democrats in Congress and masses in cities across the country are beginning to protest this outrageous stain on America which has historically been the leader of the free world.

Do you think the POTUS gives two shits what we and others think?
He certainly does not think about the fate of the Palestinians. Neither did Biden for that matter of caring. We just kept supplying them and the stream of weaponry was endless with little delay. Compare that supply chain to what we did and do with Ukraine? But the latter has little political and monetary influence in the US.
All of this because a well-educated, Black women handed the POTUS his ass in a debate, and suddenly we all woke up on her ability and demeanor. And our Pres is scurrying around to make sure another person of color (add woman to this) never gets that close to being in charge again.
What are your senators doing? AZ has two Democrats in the Senate, not a peep out of them. One a former astronaut and the other
Kelly is into his last two years. His site comment:
“When you’re looking down from space at Earth, it really puts it into perspective that we’re all in this together.”
Except, we are not in this together. There is us and there are them.
Newly elected Gallego has much to show us. He did beat a person who should have never been allowed to run . . . just like our Pres. Like Kelly he is x-military and enlisted to boot. He has a lot to prove.
Neither has said a word about what the present administration is doing. Neither has talked about the impact on their constituents.
My point? What is the plan to push back for their constituents? No comment on The Gaza?
Rachel Maddow did some great coverage of the thousands protesting in all 50 states. tinyurl.com/mrzydvmv
I can just see Trump’s Gaza—Atlantic City on the Mediterranean. If you ever visited Atlantic City in the 1980s, it consisted of a golden fringe of glitzy casinos along the shore. A block behind the them started the decaying inner city, untouched by all the wealth flowing through the casinos. In Gaza I would expect that living and working conditions to be on a par with those experienced by American immigrants.
At least Trumps plans seem to have called attention to what happened in GAza.
