If you have not read this yet, this may be of interest to you. Just Sitting here at the screen reading what things are out there which may be interesting to me and then maybe Angry Bear. Radio broadcasts serviced many purposes. One was to pick up 50s, 60s, and seventies music. Another was to listen to ball games if not at home and are traveling, and finally the news. What was going on in the city, the nation, and globally. There was always special people to hear and conversations to pay interest too.

Driving long distances, it kept you alert, up to date, and the station kept you entertained. It (CBS news) as one of those stations a driver one might tune to if stopped at a rest area or selected as a station using one of the buttons programmed for it, It closed as of today.

CBS News Radio, which provides news programming to an estimated 700 stations spanning the United States, signed off the air Friday night after nearly a century of broadcasting.
