Government Shutdown . . . Maybe
The Trump Threats and Stare Offs Tonight
I was looking around to see if there was a list of government departments which will shut down due to a Trump and his supplicants and ass-kissers being to afraid to say “no.” But I am sure Democrats will find some means of getting out of this fix rather than holding Trump and Republicans feet to the fire. If qw keep appeasing a bully, he will do this every time to get his way.

Not a specific and complete list of staying open or closing during Republican and Tr_mp’s plan to force their programs forward. The big issues here are:
- Ending ACA’s enhanced premium tax credits, which made health insurance more affordable for millions, and
- Reduce Medicaid. Hand off Medicaid to the states which do not have the funding capability.
The problem being with either program is the millions of people who would no longer have access to healthcare. An approximate 21 million people would lose healthcare according to Andrew Sprung on xpostfactoid
The other side of this is the funding for the tax breaks which President (sigh) Tr_mp needs to fully fund by cuts in programs. The law cuts $1.1 trillion from Medicaid and ACA marketplaces. There is a planned cut to Medicare also which will result in $500 billion over 10 years.

There is no centralized government resource that outlines which programs will remain open or closed. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) — which used to publish a list of each agency’s contingency plan — now says that the plans will be published on each agency’s separate website.
Military operations will continue as usual, but those working will go without a paycheck.
A spokesperson for the National Guard said that National Guard members on active orders will continue to work. This comes as Trump has deployed the National Guard to Washington, D.C., to lower crime rates and has pledged to send them to Memphis, Tennessee and Portland, Oregon.
