The Government And The Economy
A well constructed government, at a minimum, provides its citizens FDR’s four freedoms:
- Freedom of speech and expression
- Freedom of worship
- Freedom from want
- Freedom from fear
A good well constructed government would want what is best for the society or nation as a whole; understand that a healthy, well fed, well housed, well educated society or nation with a stable quality government is best.
A well constructed, healthy economy produces and equitably distributes the requisite goods and services for a society or nation, for its government.
Freedom from want begins with the society’s economy. But, a good economy is a construct of, dependent upon, good government. In turn, a good government requires a good economy to support its programs. A good government would construct the best possible economy for producing and equitably distributing the requisite goods and services, for supporting the government because a secure, healthy, well fed, well housed, well trained, well educated society with a stable government makes for a successful society or nation.
A society or nation’s government and economy are inextricably linked. Neither can succeed without the other. Both are constructs. A society or nation with a strong well constructed well functioning government working together with a strong well constructed well functioning economy is more likely to succeed.
Elon Musk, that ultra-rich man with plans to dismantle the US Government, would likely be a poor man if he had immigrated to Haiti or Somalia instead of to the United States.
