The 2.5 million employment gain does not look too impressive from this perspective.

    The data for the next 6+ months will be bouncy.
    Only the overall trend will count and that may take years to determine.

    You put in a program designed to keep people employed specifically allowing employers to call back workers so that they can take advantage of the program.

    Then you manage to create what amounts to an order to go back to work which means no more unemployment (benefiting the employer regarding the unemployment tax they would have to pay)…

    So, what’s the big deal about these latest numbers? Nothing.

    Nice chart. Employment to population ratio would give the same picture. 61.2% as the beginning of 2020 and then only 51.3% by April. May? 52.8%.
