Meanwhile this is still going on during the week….
From Diane Ravitch’s blog:
While we’re consumed 24/7 with the Trump/Russia psychodrama, Republicans are quietly, under the cover of darkness and diversion, introducing these new bills in the House:
HR 610 Vouchers for Public Education — (The bill also repeals basic nutrition standards for the national school lunch and breakfast programs)
HR 899 Terminate the Department of Education
HR 785 National Right to Work (aimed at ending unions, including teacher unions)
And there’s more. Much more, including:
–HR 861 Terminate the Environmental Protection Agency
–HJR 69 Repeal Rule Protecting Wildlife
–HR 370 Repeal Affordable Care Act
–HR 354 Defund Planned Parenthood
–HR 83 Mobilizing Against Sanctuary Cities Bill
–HR 147 Criminalizing Abortion (“Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act”)
–HR 808 Sanctions against Iran

Looks like the DEEP STATE these folks talk about is Florida, which soon will be under water. They’re draining the swamp and filling it with salt water.
Don’t worry.
No one expects US to do anything about it.
Nope Mr. Coberly I spend half my year in South Florida and some very wealthy beach front property owners are organized and actively talking quietly behind the scenes to Congressmen about taxpayer funding for waterfront protection measures up to and including sea walls around most of South Florida.
Gary
Of course. Did you think a wall around Texas was gong to keep them out?
And besides the beaches are so much nicer with all those beautiful high rise condominiums wall to wall as far as the eye can see.
But no one expects US to DO anything about it.
While this list disgusts me it does offer me a glimmer of hope. Conservatives and religious leaders have been wanting total power my entire life and how they have it. The people seem to be in a daze, the slogans and speeches were never really going to happen were they? Well now they might all happen and we may finally get that conservative utopia so cherished by so many. My hope lies in the fact that once there, the people themselves will see just how horrible that utopia is for everyone. Let them destroy what we have built over these last 80 years. Then let’s see if the people can fathom why these things were created in the first place. If we don’t learn the lessons again then we deserve what is coming.

yeah, i have had the same thought. but the people who will get hurt are not the ones who deserve to be hurt.
