It’s Working: Pubs’ Polls Plummeting
Give the Republicans enough rope and they’ll hang themselves? It seems to be working.
Yeah, it looks like Dems have taken a hit from this whole business, as Republicans hoped they would. But like the debate in general, it’s very much not symmetrical.
Combine this with the Pubs’ internal discord: are they reaching the point that the Whigs came to in 1852, where they couldn’t even nominate their own incumbent president as their candidate?
This is is just one polling outfit; I don’t have the time to compile or compare others. But given the magnitude of the move, I’d be surprised to see polls that directly contradict this trend.

It seems bad for Dems to me. The GOP has managed to drag them into the toilet. Since that was where the GOP already was, it is a relative victory.
I think Arne has a point. It is unbelievable to me, but I have seen polls–not particularly scientific mind you–which essentially blame each side equally for the government shutdown. Disinformation works particularly when the 4th estate is either in one sides pocket or believes that any analysis of the opposing talking points impairs “objectivity”
Since the GOP has drawn districts with safe margins, but not nearly as safe as Democratic ones. as packing Democrats into a small number of districts is the secret to their success, even a pox on both will affect the GOP more, they just need to keep it up until they are unpopular enough for things to change.
