Health Care Thoughts: On the Road Again

Health Care Thoughts: On the Road Again
The rest of the week is taken up with a conference, at which I will spend time with health professionals from all 50 states, the professionals including physicians and nurses, executives and managers, lawyers and CPAs, financiers, government regulators, consultants and media.
Anyone have a burning question for which I should find an answer? My official role is to evaluate the quality of the conference, sort of a mystery shopper, and this allows me to talk to lots of people.
Next week, disaster relief in Oklahoma.
We had a discussion a few weeks ago about a report that the ACA was bending the cost increase curve and that only a part of the bending could be linked to the recession. I have anecdotal information that people are simply not getting the health care they need even at serious risk to their life expectancy in part because it is costing them more out of pocket. I would be interested to know whether other professionals are seeing the same thing.
