Saul Alinsky vol II Rules for Republicans
Robert Waldmann
Saul Alinsky sure has a lot of followers. Obama is a fan. Hillary Clinton wrote her senior thesis about Alinsky. However the people who follow him to the letter are Republican’s who want to privatize social security.
Rule 13 (slightly edited)
13. Pick the target … personalize it,…
The latest follower of Alinsky is Club of Growth radical Pat Toomey who claims he never advocated privatizing social security. Laura Vecsey notes the clear Alinsky influence
The key to understanding this semantic subterfuge is, well, semantics. The word Toomey uses is “personalized” Social Security
So far rule 13 hasn’t worked, so I guess they will have to back uo to rule 13
12. “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.”
Nah not gonna happen.
Full rule 13
13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.
I am kidding on the square. Check the rules. Republicans have been following them since 1992 at the latest.
It has been hard for them to stick to their followers areas of expertise, since there aren’t any.
I remember in the 60’s, that Saul Alinsky was viewed as a -pardon my french-Ashit disturber. I lived in the Oakland Hills area of Montclair, and he was going to bring all the blacks up there to demonstrate because it was a mostly White area of Oakland. He was, I believe a Chigago figure, who seemed to be in front of Black protests for civil rights, advocating violence if need be. This was before the Black Panthers began. It seems rather odd that the Republicans would be following his sort of rules.
One other item, ProPublica has a post about the Financial B.S. that has & is still going on, that there has been nobody brought before the bar, which has been hashed over & over in AB & NC but seems to now have gotten wide attention of the what?, great unwashed, the “lessor people, the ones sucking off the “cow”, clammoring for something or someone, needing a direction, besides taking up arms, not the raised fist type either.
Perhaps this is the wrong venue for me to ask this question, but you & the majority like you, do have knowledge, ideas, also I think, a set of principals that abhor what is taking place both in Washington & the Financil sector of Wall Street. Anybody want to take this on? It requires one to do the walk, not just the talk, as all the politicians from “O” down are doing today. This is Your Country too.
