“Saving College Sports”
Maybe they can make a movie out of this one? Of all the important issues facing the United States, Trump is concerned about college football and basketball (to a lesser degree). So, he issues an executive order to establish his fix for it.

No other American president since 1961 has issued more executive orders than Donald Trump. And now he’s issued another one, this time to regulate college sports. This is happening even though he does not have the legal authority to do such.
The latest one, signed by Trump on April 3, is called “Urgent National Action to Save College Sports.”
It aims to limit athletes’ participation in college sports to five years with some exceptions and calls on the NCAA to establish transfer rules that allow a player to transfer once in five years without penalty, plus an additional time if the athlete graduates. It also aims to protect funding for women’s sports and calls for a crackdown on booster collectives that pay players more than fair-market value for their name, image and likeness.
“The Congress is strongly encouraged to expeditiously pass legislation that satisfactorily addresses these issues. But further delay is not an option given what is at stake — the 500,000 annual educational, athletic, and leadership-development opportunities that provide almost $4 billion in scholarships. This executive action will preserve college sports for future generations.”
Never mind, many students take out loans to pay for college. Many are stuck with these loans as there is no student loan forgiveness. The only way out of a student loan is to die.
So many other issues to resolve and Trump is worried about college sports. In particular, he cites football and basketball.
“College football is the primary revenue generator for university athletic departments, including revenue to support women’s and Olympic sports, and is used by many universities to attract students, donations, and goodwill as millions of Americans gather with families and friends to watch each Saturday. These factors place enormous pressure on many universities to be competitive in football. The same dynamic exists for basketball to a lesser degree. Amid this pressure, the rules governing pay-for-play, eligibility, and other aspects of college athletics have been substantially loosened through a number of judicial rulings.“
And he disses basketball as a lesser sport?!? Evidently, he has never got his hand over the rim or hit a basket from the corners or outside of the arc. But then his bone spurs would have prevented him from playing, yes? They kept him out of the military.
I hope not voting in the last election was well worth it for those who did not vote or voted for Kennedy. There is no real foundation for this presidential executive order. He is just doing it because he feels he is important and not a clown.

Maybe the best answer for those unreasoned Executive Orders is to block his supply of Sharpies.
Terry:
Something to consider for sure!
Trump doesn’t care about college sports. This is just to control the news cycle and distract from his failed elective war in Iran and from the Epstein files.
Joel:
I wish he would just do a clown show as that would be enough of a distraction. Preferred over destroying the US and Global economies. Pitiful, as he has no clue.
@Bill,
With Whisky Pete and Marco Rubio, the Trump Administration seems amply supplied with clowns.
It will do well on the Republican news station reporting then. They like simplicity with no numbers. “Doing Great” is a common measurement of how well the economy is doing. Just nod your head in agreement. No questions asked or taken.
The rest of us have to look elsewhere for the “real” news.
