Jury rejects border patrol BS
In the annals of Trump administration whining, the outrage over a protester flinging a wrapped sandwich at a border patrol officer must surely rank as among the silliest and most childish.
“Jurors showed no appetite for the Justice Department’s case against “sandwich guy,” the D.C. resident who chucked a Subway sandwich at the chest of a federal officer, finding him not guilty Thursday after several hours of deliberations.”
*snip*
“Lairmore had testified that the sandwich “exploded all over” his chest and claimed he could smell mustard and onions. But a photo showed that the sandwich was still in its wrapper on the ground after it hit Lairmore in his bulletproof vest.”
I wonder how much taxpayer money was squandered on this phony prosecution.

Assault with a deadly sandwich to your health?
The meat content of those sandwiches are hazardous to health. Processed meat has quite a bit of salt in them. Yet, so many of us have been brought up on baloney/bologna lunch meat nicely placed amongst slices of white bread. He has admitted to mustard and onions which are not necessarily found in the content of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
I suspect we are taking about baloney, salami, or some other processed meat sandwich? That is dangerous to one’s health. I am not sure how they could be used as a physical weapon without greater force.
@Bill,
Not sure what was in the sandwich, since it was still wrapped when it hit the ground. But it sure looks like the jury thought the charges were baloney.

Yep . . . a waste of court time.

A rude comment and they feint injury. Maybe their feelings due to a lack of respect?
