GOP: Zohran Mamdani is the second coming of Lenin
The Trump GOP has its knickers in a twist over Zohran Mamdani. He’s a Muslim, he’s young, he’s a Democratic Socialist (like Bernie) and he might be the next mayor of NYC. So the GOP hate machine is on blast:
“Since the MAGA hordes first learned about the existence of NYC Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani last week, they’ve been losing their minds — tripping over themselves to lob racist and Islamophobic attacks at the candidate and fearmonger about “communism.”
“It’s, in part, of a piece with the now-familiar Republican tendency to paint any up-and-coming Democrats, regardless of their actual politics, as radical leftist revolutionaries. The rancid obsession with Mamdani brings to mind the treatment of AOC and other members of “the squad,” who have been demonized since they first entered Congress years ago. It’s one way to keep MAGA’s faux populist promises from having to go toe-to-toe with policies that might actually help working-class Americans.
“The strategy is also, of course, partially rooted in the racism and xenophobia at the heart of the MAGA movement. President Trump’s supporters online have been attempting to cast the Democratic socialist and New York state lawmaker as some sort of radical, anti-American outsider who wants to do communism. That’s a far cry from the neighborly candidate New Yorkers saw in recent months, who ran in the primaries on a campaign narrowly focused on affordability and was rewarded with surging popularity.”
Poor Republican snowflakes. Elections have consequences, but only, it seems, if the person elected is Trump.
Look, I know a bunch of people who actually lived under, you know, communism in the Soviet Union, Poland, China, Bulgaria, Romania and East Germany. They would laugh out loud at the idea that Zohran Mamdani is a communist.

Maybe he’ll become mayor and maybe he won’t. If he is what some Republicans allege, him getting elected will be good for them. Run the trial and record the results. The two major parties, and their supporters, complaint about each other’s rhetoric feels pretty stale though. Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin and Mao might enjoy all the recent attention, but they are dead.
I’m impressed that they are sufficiently cognizant to be aware of Lenin’s existence. Trotsky would be a whole ‘nother story.

It is preferences. What do people prefer?
Trial one was a white woman running for the presidency. She received more votes than the white Republican. The issue was with losing in other states which swayed the electoral college. People in the right states did not prefer her.
Trial 2 was a woman of color, an African American and Asian American. She was superior in intellect and so much so that Trump would not debate her again. Perhaps, timing was an issue. I tend to think White America is not ready for a female president of color and a different nationality.
Trial 3 will involve a male with a Muslim background. This is in New York City, still the most populated city in the United States. NYC is almost like another nation by itself. Can not give away that control to a person of color and different religion, now can we, He does need to win.
And as you wrote or write about the Democratic mayoral nominee, Zohran Mamdani. The crowd opposition is as you say losing their minds – tripping all over themselves lobbing racist and Islamophobic attacks at him and fearmongering about communism. White America don’t want no women, women of color and different nationality, and many prefer not to have a male of Islamic beliefs and color either. Obama must have snuck in the back door or was the person of color they preferred.
So here we are with an overweight white man with a comb over, orange face, and who is having difficulty putting two sentences together. Some of our readers can not figure this out, now can they Eric? White America, especially males don’t want no woman or woman or male of color with the latter being Islamic bossing them around.
When we talk about other nation’s populations living under oppressive governments, we seem to lose the understanding of exactly what we are experiencing with our present Republican controlled government which kowtows to this president. We are maybe a few steps away from such a government as you mentioned in your post. Much of our Congress envisions nothing being wrong with this person.
