Viruses don’t care about your beliefs
“As the measles outbreak in Texas keeps spreading, parents who previously chose not to vaccinate their children are now lining up to get their kids the shots needed to protect them from the serious illness.
“People are more and more nervous” as they watch the highly contagious virus spread in their communities, mostly among children, said Katherine Wells, director of public health for Lubbock’s health department. “We’ve vaccinated multiple kids that have never been vaccinated before, some from families that didn’t believe in vaccines.”
“About half of the approximately 100 doses of measles-mumps-rubella vaccine (MMR) given at the health department last week were to kids who were unvaccinated, Wells said.
“On Tuesday, the Texas Department of State Health Services reported that 124 cases of measles have been confirmed since late January, mostly in counties in West Texas, near the New Mexico border. So far, 18 patients have been hospitalized, often because they were having trouble breathing.”

wouldn’t it be remarkable if people suddenly woke up about the GOP’s attacks on science (and reason for that matter) as nothing more than a means to gain power? I understand that a child in Texas has died from measles. That is about as tough a FAFO as there is , but it appears to be moving people. Now the follow-up needs to be “ If they lied to you about vaccines, what else have they lied to you about?
Terry
I agree with you.
@Terry,
“If they lied to you about vaccines, what else have they lied to you about?”
Exactly.
heard on Hannity that mRNA vaccines are more dangerous than the disease…i believe he had some kind of doctor as a guest, touting that line…about a month ago, i read that more than half of Trump voters believed that, and i wondered where they got that from…now i know…
rjs:
I apologize for not posting some of your articles especially now that Trump and Kennedy are going to blow the place up with Covid.
Again having Cloudflare problem on Reply. To rjs I would simply point out that the only mRNA vaccines right now are the COVID ones and acceptance of them as boosters has decreased so sharply that unquestionably millions of Democrats have lost confidence in them. They might not be watching Hannity, but they are acting on similar beliefs.
@Eric,
Like I said, viruses don’t care about beliefs.
