Before the new administration does all that “sheriff” stuff, the new president must get that $2 trillion to update US’ aged unreliable thermo-nuclear-MAD systems on track and not failed like F-35.
There is the hypersonics gap, US Navy needs more aircraft carriers, Army is decades behind replacing UH-1, their tanks (air conditioning for deserts) are 40 years old, F-35 cannot be kept in working engines…….

JASSM (UK storm shadow, German Taurus) small warhead, not such long range and needs direct US input to get close to a target. Maybe Israel’s Rafael would sell US some of those air launched ballistic missiles the Russian tracked overIiran a few weeks ago!
The autocrats have looked the other way with all the direct US/EU involvement with leaking missile defenses and inept battlefield rockets, but hitting on their soil…….
