Idaho public health to Idahoans: suffer and die
In 2020, I enrolled in the Moderna clinical trial of their mRNA vaccine. I got the first jab in August 2020, and it turns out I was in the vaccine arm of the trial, not the placebo arm. I’ve now had seven vaccinations, as the vaccine has been updated. I contracted COVID once. Of course, the promise of the vaccine is not to prevent COVID infection, it’s to keep you out of the ED and the morgue, as well as preventing long COVID. Worked for me and for millions of others. The COVID vaccines have proven safe and effective. So public health departments should be promoting COVID vaccines, right?

Why does the Idaho Southwest District want its citizens to suffer and possibly die from a preventable condition? Why do they want to be the next source of infections for the rest of the US?

Our healthcare (KP) still gives free COVID boosters to us old folks. In August my husband tested positive. Symptoms of a cold, not even a bad one. Not bad for a 91 year old. 3-4 years ago I would have expected him to be hospitalized or worse.
Unfortunately there is no indication that red states care about increases in mortality.

My wife (68 yo) recently tested positive with mild symptoms. I had no symptoms and so didn’t bother to test myself. That’s what the vaccine is supposed to do.
