At some point humans will have to stop living in places that are too prone to climate disasters.  We are seeing in real time insurance companies leaving entire states, including Florida and California.  The states are trying to stem the bleeding by setting up state run insurers of last resort, but this is actually a bad idea.  This just means that all state residents are subsidizing those who choose to live in uninsurable areas.  I imagine that these state insurance agencies will fail, perhaps fairly quickly.

It’s interesting that Americans believe in the “market”, except they don’t when they want to live on seashores or inside forests.

Would you make the same argument for healthcare also? Those who have an less than average life must own the results of such? Much of the build in inclimate areas are allowed so by government appeasing builders. People look for desirable places to live with lower costs.

If you stop the build in bad or risky places than people will not go there.

well, that’s a good thing.  maybe it will make them take climate change seriously.

Bill, i did not understand your “own the results of less than average life”

as always, my “…” are loose quotes: what i think you meant.

      Dale:

People without healthcare or eat worst foods because they can not afford the good ones afford should be responsible for their earlier demise or illness? The same holds true for housing. Developers and builders have a tendency to deceive people. And towns and counties don’t really restrict what can be built and how many can be built.
