Obama and Biden left an economy standing on third base, and Trump has taken it back to the batter’s box.

” When the estimates of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the third quarter come out on October 29, they are likely to show a significant growth in the economy compared to the second quarter. If so, we can expect statements by President Trump and his supporters about how great the economy has performed during his term and another tweet claiming that electing Vice President Biden “Will kill your Stocks, 401k’s, and the ECONOMY. BIG CRASH!” As an alternative you have a forecast from Goldman Sachs that says “A blue wave this November led by Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden would lead to a surge in economic growth.”

How do you decide? An objective way to evaluate these claims would be to compare the performance of various economic indicators during this administration with the performance of previous administrations. I present here two measures for this comparison; the growth in real GDP, and the growth in the stock market as measured by the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA). The time series data of these measures and others discussion are available in an essay on MeasuringWorth.com.

The effect of the pandemic can be seen when you rank these twelve by their first three and a half years and find that Trump is last with a decrease of 3.3%, 9.0 percentage points behind Obama who’s first year had negative growth because of the Great Recession. The economy has grown faster during Democratic administrations.”

She posted recently on econospeak. And I sometimes see posts that look like hers on Stumbling and Mumbling.

But she always has also a very pro-China viewpoint which makes her easy to identify.

Thinking Obama has never had this much fun.

“I say this with all possible respect: Barack Obama has some formidable natural blogging skills—or skillz, as the kids say. If you’ve caught him during his recent tour of the 2020 battlegrounds, you know what I’m talking about. We all know Inspirational Obama, and Devotional Obama, and Better Angels Obama, but Snarkmaster Obama is having a ball out there setting up light housekeeping in the president*’s cerebellum. If you’re going to shoot the dozens with this guy, bring your A-game. On Tuesday, he was in Orlando, and he took El Caudillo Del Mar-a-Lago downtown.

‘Last week, when Trump was asked if he’d do anything differently, you know what he said? He said: Not much, not much. Really?! Not much? You can’t think of anything that you might be doing differently, like maybe you shouldn’t have gone on TV and suggested we might inject bleach to cure COVID? That’s not something you said, you know, maybe I shouldn’t have said that? …

He whines that 60 Minutes is too tough. You think he’s going to stand up to dictators? He thinks Lesley Stahl’s a bully. Just yesterday, just yesterday, he said that Putin of Russia, XI of China and Kim Jong Un of North Korea want him to win. We know, we know because you’ve been giving them whatever they want for the last four years. Of course, they want you to win. That’s not a good thing. You shouldn’t brag about the fact that some of our greatest adversaries think they’d be better off with you in office. Of course they do. What does that say about you? I think about that. Why are you bragging about that? Come on.’

The obvious joy Obama is taking in trolling the president* makes these appearances appointment television, especially in a country subjected to two or three of the White House wankfests a day. It is excellent TV, and nobody knows that better than our favorite reality-TV president*. At one of his rallies, on Monday evening in Pennsylvania, the president*departed the rails.

‘And they say, “Oh, he’s so rhetorical…” (sic) I never thought he was a good speaker. Really. I never did. And then they say, “Oh, he’s so handsome.” But they don’t want to show his crowd, and they don’t want to show this crowd, but for different reasons.’

I don’t even want to guess how deeply that psychopathology goes. There are areas of the human psyche that are SuperFund sites, and that’s one of them.”

What happens if Greenwald is successful at blowing up Biden?

“But she always has also a very pro-China viewpoint which makes her easy to identify.”

    Understated.

She has a good heart though.

WTF does that mean, Run? i haven’t been following the Greenwald resignation story closely, but you seem to be implying that he is engaged in a deliberate effort to derail BIden’s election, rather than report on a story that has been largely buried by MSM…

Are you not keeping track of what is occurring. There is a move afoot to tie Biden to the Ukraine through his son. What a surprise, it is happening just before the presidential election. Like the Comey disclosure before the 2016 election, this could be enough to sway votes to anybody but. If you read other sites there is an active effort to imply such is occurring from supposed reputable people. I think Greenwald is a disrupter and one site in particular is feeding the fire for notoriety. We are so close to dumping trump.

      https://greenwald.substack.com/p/my-resignation-from-the-intercept and https://greenwald.substack.com/p/article-on-joe-and-hunter-biden-censored

At a time when we are at the manipulation of a despot who is being aided and abetted by elected government senators, we have a few who are casting aspirations using flawed innuendo from yellow-sheet publications. I see this as a grasp for public acclaim at the expense of a nation. So yes, I am alarmed, alarmed enough to set aside my pen on healthcare and write on Greenwald and this topic.

We do not need another Comey.

Burisma is an old story, Run; it’s been clear that Hunter Biden profited off his father’s position as VP for years now…a corrupt Ukrainian gas company doesn’t appoint a young American lobbyist with no natural gas and no corporate experience to a $500K board of directors spot just cause they like his fresh young face.. it’s also clear that Joe BIden got the Ukrainian prosecutor that was going after Burisma fired to stop the investigation while Hunter was on the Board – he bragged about it himself at the time, as it was all part of the US policy to choose winners and losers among the crooked politicians vying for power in the Ukraine back then….for Joe to say he had no knowledge of Hunter’s business dealings never held water for me…while these recent Hunter Biden tapes are new, the Ukraine story has been out there since before Biden got the Dem nomination…
    .
if the likes of Greenwald or Taibbi are to be considered disrupters for exposing what they know about this situation, then i am a disrupter as well…i led my weekly newsletter with excerpts from the New York Post story the weekend after Facebook and Twitter censored it…i have no insight into the accuracy of the New York Post story or the Hunter Biden tapes exposed within, but my readers are adults with awareness of the coming election and the potential for treachery, and hence shouldn’t have the juvenile censors at Facebook and Twitter deciding what they can read or not..

i find it hard to believe that revelations about Joe Biden’s nepotism could influence anyone who was leaning toward Biden to switch their vote to the Trump crime family instead…if anything, those among us who fear an authoritarian control of the media are more likely to react to the signs of censorship surrounding this story and withhold their votes from the party that appears to be behind it…and because of that reaction, the censors have become their own worst enemy, because this story is getting a whole lot more exposure than it would have got otherwise, simply due to all the attempts to censor it…
