For 3 days from an abundance of caution, 4 hours a day of online teaching responsibilities and extreme laziness, I have stayed in an apartment usuaally in a bed. Rome is a bit different than was I went into hibernation. There are people walking around without dogs on a leash. Some cars.
There was a guard outside the supermarket absolutely waiting for someone to come out bfore letting someone in. No crowds: no line at cashier. The Deli lady (who I thanked for risking her life to give me 100 g of spek + 100 g of bresaola said it’s a lot more pleasant this way.
Shelves a tiny bit less stocked than usual. The only thing I couldn’t get was garbanzo beans
We stocked up by getting 9 litres of the red blended stuff to fortify us while in doors. Big run on tomato sauce at the store. We already had our sauce/gravy made.
Has Italy peaked?
Italy saw a spike in cases & deaths today, Run, after 4 days of slowing….despite that, we passed them and China this afternoon & we’re now the most infected country on earth..
Thank you for the input have been watching similar also and also reading Robert’s reports from Italy. We are in trouble and the big 3 auto want to call workers back on April 6. I am thinking of more like end of April. My wife and I are sticking close to home and away from people as advised except for walks in the neighborhood.
Be careful . . .
i don’t know what happened to Michigan…you all were tracking even with Ohio till 3 or 4 days ago, and now you’ve suddenly tripled our numbers…
and we’re not slowing down…Ohio’s health director expects our peak in early May with 6,000 to 8,000 new cases per day…
Michiganders are stupid and they hate me when I explain why they are so dumb.
