Interesting anecdotal op-ed here by a former democratic house member’s intern: https://truthout.org/articles/interning-for-a-centrist-democrat-pushed-me-to-democratic-socialism/

    Dear Beto:

I see you are still polling between 2 and 5% most places. Why not run for the TX Senate seat held by Cornyn? You’d probably start out at least 30-40% in statewide polls and would likely swamp any poll of TX Dems for the primary.

cc: John Hickenlooper re: Gardner etc.

      AS:

That would be the safe bet for Beto and also a gain for Dems if he won. The state is turning purple the same as Michigan is in national or state wide elections. As Furman University political scientist Danielle Vinson said: “He’s not in the scary wing of the party,”

Biden is not afraid to pick pocket your wallet and take what is necessary to feed banking interests.

Run: Right. If the DSCC was worth any portion of the cash being rained on it by K Street pimps there would be a certain discipline applied. Not just Beto and Hickenlooper but across most of those <5%ers in this race. The Kavanaugh debacle should probably inform at least some awareness of the scope of the crisis in that body.

But…. "I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat" – Will Rogers
