    “There was this amazing thing on the electric Twitter machine on Monday, and it had nothing to do with happy babies, or cute cats, or puppies wearing dress hats, or a poll on who the most talented Ferengi was. Right there in your feed, if you’re lucky enough to be following him, the President* of the United States committed a crime.

    Donald J. Trump

    @realDonaldTrump

    “I will never testify against Trump.” This statement was recently made by Roger Stone, essentially stating that he will not be forced by a rogue and out of control prosecutor to make up lies and stories about “President Trump.” Nice to know that some people still have “guts!”

    I am going to leave why he’s putting himself “in quotation marks” for another day. (Also, too: “guts.”) But that right there is a criminal act, in the open, and for all the world to see. It is exactly as if he’d walked out of the White House and, with CNN in tow, stuck up a bodega. It’s that blatant.

    Let me introduce you to…

    18 USC 1503: obstruction of justice.

    And also to its close personal friend…

    18 USC 1512: witness tampering.

    On June 23, 1972, President Richard Nixon told his chief of staff, H. R. Haldeman, to use the CIA to shut off the FBI’s Watergate investigation, because the latter was leading into some “productive areas.” It was recorded on tape. Two years later, after a prolonged court battle, the American people got to hear their president commit the crime of obstruction of justice.

    Sixteen years later, on his way out the door, and after a prolonged stonewalling exercise that extended over two administrations, President George H.W. Bush pretty much obstructed the Iran-Contra investigation into an early grave by pardoning anyone who might have been able to tie him into it.

    Now, though, we have a president* who commits his crimes right out there in the open pixels, thereby cutting out any middleman. I’m not sure this is an improvement.”

    S&P Global Platts Analytics is holding a North American Gas Winter Outlook Webinar on December 18; you should be able to read my invitation to submit a question here:

    http://plattsinfo.platts.com/index.php/email/emailWebview?mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiTlRRMU1UQXlaR1k1TURrMyIsInQiOiJsdms3UFEwWjRiWi81NnJ2Q3ZkNjhCck12VSt5OUM3cWRtSHZ3aWVybmtlQmtmQzl0ZGc0c1VKLzNJRTVLNEpYeVVyMWRvaGF4cUx3WllkcEh2VTBBaGc4K0pjS1RCdUliWFd5bzc2WlovaGJkWmptbnN6Z2FpZlhZSTF6T2M3SCJ9

    the following is what i sent in:

    during the winter of 2013 – 2014, 3,010 billion cubic feet of natural gas were pulled out of storage between the November peak and the March 28 nadir…

    in that winter, natural gas supplies began the heating season at 3,834 billion cubic feet in storage on November 8th and had seen 59 billion cubic feet withdrawn over the first two weeks…

    this year we started the heating season with 3,247 billion cubic feet of natural gas supplies in storage on November 9th and have already withdrawn 193 billion cubic feet over two weeks, including the largest early November withdrawal on record..

    that withdrawal, plus other withdrawals during the winter of 2017, seem to indicate that greater quantities of natural gas are needed from storage for an equivalent number of population weighted heating degree days now than were needed in prior years..

    if we merely match the withdrawals of 2014 from here on, our natural gas supplies would fall to below 200 billion cubic feet by the end of the heating season, and they could possibly go to zero should this coming winter be as cold or colder..

    so my question for the webinar is:

    are there any contingency plans to ration natural gas if such a scenario should develop, and if so, how would the limited supplies be allocated between residential, industrial, utility and export demand…

    fwiw, i also sent roughly the same outline to Sherrod Brown, under the heading of “need to develop a contingency plan to ration natural gas”

    The only ahem, alleged human being, who could mourn the death of the New World order and the sociopath who coined the term is one who has never had a bomb dropped on their wedding ceremony, their home destroyed by a predator drone or their city leveled to look like Stalingrad. That alleged human being has never been waterboarded, nor seen his torturers let off the hook by a black guy as he’s accepting a Nobel Peace Prize. Geoege HW Bush was an inhuman monster, whose hideous Middle East war crime started us down the path of wanton destruction overseas as we totally ignored our own citizens–who are now being gunned down by trigger happy police when they aren’t getting blasted on opiods or committing suicide–sometimes while seeing how many others they can kill in the process.

    Easy to write such outright immoral lies and falsehoods in support of the superrich who run this country in your comfortable home where you never have to worry about American-supported thugs breaking down your door, raping your wife and shooting you in the head. Your arrogant, oblivious “liberal” attitude just shows why America cannot collapse fast enough.

    Can someone remind me why AB allows trolling like this?

    i didn’t have any problem with what he wrote, Joel…stronger feelings than mine, of course, but then i’m just a burnt out old fart…

    @rjs,

    So you’d like to see America collapse, too? Sad.
