“One sign that Everything Is Fine is when your lawyer has a lawyer. So it goes with President Donald J. Trump, whose personal attorney, Michael Cohen, has his own legal counsel, David Schwartz.
Cohen is the certified brain genius who yelled Fake News in response to a Wall Street Journal story detailing how he paid $130,000 in hush money to Stormy Daniels shortly before the 2016 election. That is, until he admitted to The New York Times that he made the payment, but Trump never heard about it. All of this is, of course, absurd.
Fast forward to now, and Cohen’s lawyer—that’s Trump’s lawyer’s lawyer—has been making the cable news rounds in defense of his client. This is about as good an idea as putting Cohen on cable news, which once led to the “Says Who?” Incident of 2016.
On CNN Wednesday night, Schwartz argued Trump was never aware of the NDA contract with Stormy Daniels, so it will be hard to argue it should be enforced. This is the exact same argument Daniels’ lawyer, Michael Avenatti, is making, so it’s probably a bad one for Cohen’s lawyer to make.
But it turns out he was only just getting started. On Megyn Kelly’s NBC show Thursday morning, Schwartz did such bad lawyering that the studio audience started laughing in his face on national television.”
You would think just by sheer chance some competent people would emerge from this group. When an audience of non-lawyers laughs at the words of a lawyer, you have serious problems with the abilities of the personnel director.
many liberal predicted thought the world was going to end with the Trump election. No it didn’t and is unlikely to happen. But what did happen?
“The above is the reality. To the degree it has been achieved in 16 months by a president who shouts, pouts, cajoles, threatens, exaggerates, and proves unpredictable and mercurial is a commentary on the establishmentarians and their own grasp of human nature. Donald Trump’s postwar order did not give us alienated allies in the Middle East, a rubbery NATO, North Korean intercontinental missiles, Iran on an ascendant arc in the Middle East, China’s new Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, Putin unbound, and bewildered enemies like Cuba and Iran wondering why they were courted as friends.
This same strange Washington disconnect between fantasy and reality reigns at home. After nearly two years of hysteria, there has never been proof adduced of Trump-Russian collusion.”
Another expectation for many of us is the investigation into the previous administration’s meanderings (IRS, FBI, DOJ, EPA etc) into the illegal and unethical acts used to make the fundamental transformation of this great nation.
Just how long will this business cycle continue? In three years how will this country’s economic future look?
“Watch Sinclair Broadcast Group News Anchors Parrot Their Bosses’ Opinions in Perfect, Deafening Unison
It takes a little time to read about the ways the Sinclair Broadcast Group is using its vast portfolio of local television stations to pump poison into the brains of local news viewers. It takes less time to watch John Oliver explain it with illustrative video clips, but it’s still a bit of a commitment. But if you only have eleven seconds and still want to understand what Sinclair Broadcast Group is doing to the country, this tweet from Deadspin writer Timothy Burke makes it all crystal clear:
That’s a montage of local news anchors repeating, word for word, an editorial Sinclair Broadcast Group required all of its stations—and it owns nearly 200—to air. This isn’t new for Sinclair: In the final days of the 2004 election, all Sinclair stations had to run an hour-long program attacking John Kerry’s service in Vietnam. (The company fired their Washington bureau chief for pointing out this was bullshit.) But although Sinclair normally gets a pundit like Boris Epshteyn say the actual words, this time they forced their local news anchors to play Charlie McCarthy.
The Seattle Post-Intelligencer published the complete script for Seattle’s KOMO TV (an ABC affiliate), and, as the video makes clear, every Sinclair media market was served exactly the same plate of garbage. The script seems to be designed to encourage the audience not to believe the bad, true things journalists are reporting about President Trump, which is, to steal a phrase, extremely dangerous to our democracy. Here’s the text, complete with idiosyncratic use of quotation marks:”
II think they do laugh. Some of them because they know it is garbage they believe no one will take seriously; others because they know it is garbage and want it to be believed; and others that think it is not garbage.
Seen it with a lot of posts, not just newscasts. Got the same three groups out here.
they just keep saying things without any regard for the truth. Like above where there has been no show of collusion with the russians. Sorry, but the campaign met with russians who stated they had something on clinton. That is collusion.
But they ignore it. They deflect with bs like they talked about orphans or throw up some whataboutisms or that those were not russians directed by putin, or what will appear here shortly. None of which change the fact of collusion.
Meanwhile, my favorite is putin had nothing to do with it. Yeah, like there are many russians in the world that are going to do something like that without instructions. And if there are, they better be walking around in bulletproof hazmat suits.

“Senator Joni Ernst and Iowa’s agriculture secretary, Mike Naig, both say the tariffs will hurt Iowans, and Mr. Naig says we need to expand markets, not shrink them. Senator Chuck Grassley said something similar, on Fox News: “Tariffs do not put America first — low barriers and expanded access do.”
China has already responded with its own tariff on pork, which will have a dire impact on Iowa. Iowa is the nation’s largest pork producer, producing three times as much pork as the next-highest state.
A couple of banker friends who work with farmers every day told me last week that with commodity prices down and the tariffs imposed, approximately 10 percent of our farmers probably won’t make it this year, and 10 percent more will likely fail next year. They also shared the news that in Iowa, larger agribusinesses are buying up smaller farms that are in financial trouble, and that people are starting to make comparisons to the farm crisis of the 1980s, when approximately 10,000 Iowa farmers lost their farms.
Even Representative Steve King, the avid Trump supporter and Iowan every liberal loves to hate, is worried about a new farm crisis.
Dairy farmers are particularly hard hit, suffering through four years of declining prices. It’s gotten so bad, dairy farming organizations are giving out suicide hotline numbers, as farmers are committing suicide in the hope that their insurance will save the family farm.
I’m focusing on the area I know, rural Iowa, but if the president stays on course with the tariffs, the impacts will hit many rural areas all over America, what I call Trumplandia.”
And now for something completely different.

Getting close to absolute evil.
