Congressman Paul Ryan at his Finest

Politics
Taxes/regulation

Kind of hard to ignore the blathering of a Republican jerk on the pay increase a school secretary will receive as a result of Trump/Republican tax break.

Gosh darn, she can afford a Costco membership now! What an ass . . . He needs to go.

Deleted by Ryan afterwards. Secretary was being sarcastic.

Ryan has always been a lightweight, but has convinced the folks in his mostly working class district that he is a policy wonk. In fact, he would not have stayed in office but for the culture war aspects which end up being being anti abortion and racism whether blowing dog whistles or simply shouting it like our president. Ryan is plainly more of the dog whistle type, but has done very little for his constituents much like Wisconsin’s governor. Both are still odds on favorites in 2018 mostly because their are very few Democrats of any stature left in the state. Randy Bryce is running against Ryan and has been raising some money, but I do not believe he has ever held elective office. The same can be said of much of the crowded Democratic field for governor. At the end of the day the reason the GOP controls so much of government is not just gerrymandering but an ineffective opposition party.

Dems are found in MadCity, Milwaukee, Eau Claire, other populated areas, and especially around universities. Johnson won in Wisconsin only because Koch Bros poured money into Wisconsin and the National Dems ignored Wisconsin.
