Soldiers do not use umbrellas……..
that obama is not holding the umbrella in either? not sure it makes the point you seem to think it does

Somebody once told Trump he was so sweet that he would melt if he got wet and Trump still believes that. I got over it when I was about 5 and I am guessing Obama did too
I am an Obama fan and a Trump hater but to me this picture tells a simple story.
Trump and Michelle have hair styles that would suffer in even a light rain, Obama doesn’t and nor would Pam Biondi’s much. If it was raining in that shot. Which it doesn’t appear to be.
Of all the myriad reasons to despise The Donald his desire to protect his apparent thousands of dollar investment in his hair is the least of them.
Trump’s umbrella is YUUUGE. There was room for Bondi under it. If it wasn’t raining, why was he using an umbrella?
Looks like it’s not even raining in the Trump picture. Perhaps he is using the umbrella as it’s name implies.
When you go to that site, you will see that Trump changed the umbrella to his left hand putting only himself under the umbrella…
You just know something is a Nothingburger if Warren and I agree.
This is a Nothingburger on Wonder Bread with Miracle Whip.
beware of agreeing with warrens.
just to say, i noticed the ambiguity of the pictures, too. but i also got the point.
This is a very misleading analogy one could make to measure character. Perhaps Trump knew it was not raining and perhaps Obama is to stupid to know when to get out of the rain or his staff is. Why would two distinct pictures of two people holding umbrellas at different times show any empirical measure of character? Ed I love the fact that you are an ace economist and your formula for measuring effective demand I think has great merit and wisdom but sociologist to me you are not. This is just another example of how liars can use statistics to lie and say what they want and often can economist bad names. Perhaps you should read the Dean Baker blog at Beat the Press yesterday titled “Economist Keep Getting it Wrong because the Media Covers Up their Mistakes”…Also be sure to read the Sanders Levin report on globalization and the rise of Trumpism over at Prosperous America.org
