I grew up in Wichita so I’ve been waiting more than half my life to see the Royals back in the WS. Go Royals!

I agree. My mother-in-law in front of the TV smoking the last time they went to the finals. Ahhh, pleasant memories of them winning the last time. She was happy all of 24 hours. 🙂

Yeah, but do we really wanna see the Koch brothers happy?

Do we imagine we have any control over their happiness? I don’t.

In non WS news, slashdot points to a couple stories regarding the sorry state of H-1B visa program. http://tech.slashdot.org/story/14/10/29/1244255/skilled-foreign-workers-treated-as-indentured-servants

Naked capitalism featured additional commentary and analysis here:

    Screwing tech workers: Pitifully non-Partisan.

Progressive Senate candidate Rick Weiland provides a unique take on the DSCC’s idea of vctory: http://www.argusleader.com/story/davidmontgomery/2014/10/27/weiland-dscc-sabotage/18021911/

No reason why the DSCC couldn’t have spent $1M actually supporting the democratic candidate in that race. Except maybe the people writing the checks.

I’m moderating my despair at the Bummer’s dominance of the 2nd half of tonight’s game with this lovely bit from The Daily Show, welcoming the Koch Brothers to their advertising family: http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/10/jon-stewart-shreds-robber-baron-koch-brothers-for-buying-ad-time-during-his-show/
