How are stocks doing?

Edward Lambert | February 3, 2014 1:20 pm

US/Global Economics

Stocks were up a bit in the morning and when I just check now, wow, they have gone down quite a bit.

Remember my post from a few weeks ago…

Fun analogy for investing in stocks.

I was giving warning.

The problem is, your warning toothless. Stocks were due for a correction, what happens when they rise into the spring?

    John C.
The warning is for the whole year. We are hitting the effective demand limit around $16 trillion real GDP in the first quarter 2014. The effective demand limit saw this coming. And this is no simple correction.
Orders are down, profits are down, and China is slowing more than people know yet.
    This is no simple correction.
I watch the Chilean peso to gauge China and the emerging markets. It is up to 560/USD. There is more going on here than a simple correction.
Stocks can still rise in the spring, but I am not going to bet on a significant rise that appears to be riskless. Are you?
