I sold my soul to the Devil – my idea – but I get my soul back – and the Devil gets a pretty good deal too.
I sold my soul to the Devil for everything I want in this life – but I can get out of the bad part if I sign up five other souls for the same deal. And they can do likewise. Like all pyramid schemes, the thing is to get in early before the supply of (eternal) suckers runs low.
“What would it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul. For what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” The answer seemingly is at least five other souls. :-[
hard to tell just how not serious you are being. but just to confuse the issue, let me point out that “losing your soul” need not mean “going to hell”… a famous hot place with guys in red union suits with pitchfoks.
simply living a life based on greed (or lust or… all that jazz) turns out to be really a lot more miserable even than honest poverty.
there are degrees of poverty, and the fear of poverty, that might be worse than living in greed, but so far as i can tell for most of us the danger is the other way.
coberly,
Actually, I since talked to a Catholic priest about this and he told me the Devil cannot take anyone to Hell or keep them out — or he would get out. Further, he warned me that God could send me to Hell for enticing other souls there.
So now I’m not sure what to do. ??? My advice to others will be don’t get involved with the Devil — that will be after I get five other souls, maybe. :-[

The priest was only half right. God doesn’t send anyone to hell. People go there of their own free will.
And the Devil can’t take you there either, but if he can get you to worry about chain letters he doesn’t have to. That’s the hell of it.
Who will get the blame? How will it play in 2014?
