Obama’s new Commerce Secretary is tied to a long history of extreme corporate tax avoidance (evasion?). Makes Romney look like a small timer.

    So much for liberal piety.

    Rusty

haven’t seen much liberal piety around here lately.

your substantive posts and comments would have a lot more credibility if you didn’t have these delusions about liberal monsters coming to eat your children.

    Coberly:

    You’re not reading closely enough.

Liberals know they are morally superior because they love bigger government, puppies and kittens and people of color and truth and justice and everything good and wholesome.

Conservatives are selfish SOBs who want to take food from starving old ladies to buy more yachts.

    Read a little closer.

    read WHAT closer?

    read your mind?

as it happened i just beat up on a “liberal.” and i really can’t afford to lose friends. but even though i know you can’t convince anyone of anything, and i just make them mad at me by trying, i try to point out bad thinking whether it comes from the right or the left.

that would appear to include “liberals” who think “old white men (aka “conservatives” ) eat children and won’t let their daughters stay out all night.” but it also includes “liberals” who think that using the government to see that old ladies don’t starve is a communist plot that will end with forcing their little boys to marry homosexuals and giving all their money to lazy… ah… welfare bums to buy drugs and take their daughters out all night.

I forwarded to a few of you that happen to be on my mailing list a chain email entitled Winds of Change. You’ve probably heard of it. The message purports to originate with Warren Buffet though that seems unlikely. I chose to forward the message only because I happen to think that it contains a message that is long over due and would be, if it were a real legislative effort, the best piece of work to come out of the Congress in a generation or two. This link purports to analyze the validity of the message. http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/c/congressional-reform-act-2011.htm#.UaP7qZwQOsg

But its validity is not as important than is the message that it sends to us. Congress treats itself differently from it does the citizens it represents. That is bullshit and needs to change.
