I’m no expert on the Greek constitution, but how the dickens can Lucas Papademos be Prime Minister of Greece if he’s not even an elected MP? Seriously, is that constitutional in Greece? Anybody?
fIXED…if in doubt with that sort message, I find it better to refresh the AB link to see if the comment shows up rather than retry…often it is only a queing slowdown on the server for a few moments.
…then one crazy little guy sneaking a few ounces of explosive on an airplane would never have set off the nation wide system of strip searching and fondling (up to 24 million a year once all Xrays are in place — 3% X 800 million) cross-country travelers.
Just a thought that occured to me. Will probably be the beginning of my next anti-TSA screed, whatever month I get around to it. 🙂
Economic questions I wish I could figure out how to answer:
1> What is the likely impact to the north american power grid if every indoor pot grower were immediately freed to move his plants outdoors and cultivate them in the “free” sunlight?

A timely topic with holiday travel looming. Personally I have resolved to end a 15 year tradition next year by using amtrak/rental car to get home to Wichita instead of my usual flight.
Although the service is slow and worse often unreliable, I figured out that replacing my usual 6+hour flight with connections by 12+ hours on Amtrak followed by a 2 hour drive in a rental car was actually hundreds of dollars cheaper. So even in a worst case scenario where I end up paying for hotel rooms en route either way I end up at least even with airfare.
And even in that worst case scenario where I don’t end up saving any money, I get a lot more flexibility regarding what day I travel, weather hassles etc. And no airport security hassles or walks through the hot dog cooker they call a full body scanning system. If I didn’t already have a non-refulndable ticket bought for this year ($600+ booked months in advance) I would have gone home by train/car this year.

Sorry, I kept on getting this message saying “unable to post, Retry/Abort?” or something like that. I pressed Retry a couple of times…

Last night St Louis’ fascists tore down the US constitution.
The rights, indeed the obligation of the people to assembly to address the government was destroyed in St Louis before the end of Veteran’s Day.
So much for thanking a veteran for the freedom the 99% deserve!
The excuse was enforcing the fascists’ curfew.
If there had been no 9/11…
