Buce Discusses Elizabeth Warren

Politics

I have to support a fellow Rutgers-Newark alum. But I doubt my endorsement would be so eloquent as Buce’s discussion of her.

Ken, Psychologically I think having a few politicians like Warren would be good for the American people. But, I am sure that there are at least a few current politicians that started off Warren-like and ended up disappearing into DC and it’s games. I question that one junior person in DC can have an impact and, just supposing they do, I question that they will remain if they start trying to disrupt the DC culture.

Few Freshmen have Warren’s pre-existing national profile. The most recent equivalent would probably be Al Franken, interestingly enough a Harvard Man and considering his lack of seniority quite the effective Senator so far. And not showing much sign of disappearing into DC games.

Plus if you can navigate academic politics at Harvard you probably have most of the tactical skills needed to navigate the Senate cloakrooms. So I am thinking you would do fine on both the policy and poitical maneuvering fronts.

    http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2011/09/elizabeth-warren-leads-scott-brown-by-2-points-in-latest-poll.html    polls after announcement

http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2011/09/elizabeth-warren-to-announce-senate-campaign-tomorrow.html   not all is roses, sure there are thorns, this is political power plays

Maybe a bully puppet is worth while if the media grants coverage, and statements do resonate even for tea party in MA.  Brown has needed the mantle of ‘independence’ from to maintain popularity.
