Myths Wallstreet lives by?
Mainly from minute 10 to 20 for the story, start at minute 17 to listen to the jist of some Wallstreet laments from several regular traders about the bailout and how it is framed:
Bailout blues??? Shame? Nah…just smarter than most.
I think it is time for the NY City trash and sewer workers to go on strike. Then we’ll see how smart these wall streeters are.
It really makes one weep to hear such selfishness.
I was struck by something more astonishing than the selfishness. Willful oblivious ignorance.
It’s one thing to be self interested, I’d expect as much in a job like this. But to be able to maintain the denial regarding the role of bailouts in keeping their game going really requires an amazing level of cognitive dissonance. Sociopathy rarely covers such ordinary ground.
I agree with you, but then again, I look at selfishness as a bucket term to cover such cognition.
