Dan Crawford | October 2, 2010 1:52 pm

How much do I make from Brad Delong’s Grasping Realityis worth a read and some comparative figuring. Comments including our own Robert Waldmann are instructive.

Thanks for the plug.  Brad makes much less that I thought (of course I don’t know what it’s like to work for a bankrupt government, since I work for the fiscally sound Italian Republic).  However, he is on a flight to Narita with 12 people in the cabin, so I think he’s flying first class (he did stress the perks).  Or maybe it’s a tiny local plane flying from some Buddha forsaken small town in Japan.

Still, you have to admit close to $200K total comp for a part time job ain’t chicken feed. But maybe it’s the rough working environment that justifies the pay? Or wait, I almost forgot. It’s the PhD, isn’t?
