Dan Crawford | July 25, 2010 9:29 pm

The New York Times and The Guardian report on the posting of archival documents by Wikileaks. Reporting appears to be similar so far until they are read and sorted.

nearly $12B a month for war since 9/11, over $15,000,000 an hour for almost 9 years of killing children, and they couldnt even find $10B this year to help defray what could be 300,000 teacher layoffs…

I don’t suppose those responsible for (improperly) classifying this stuff are going to be sought out and admonished.   (And yes, some of it is classified because it includes Afghan names that Wikileaks has, thankfully, redacted).  Still the story seems to be much the same as the Pentagon Papers.  The public is being systematically lied to.  There is no legal or moral justification for the lies.  But unfortunately, there is no penalty exacted for telling/enabling them.

I do not think there would be much support for the Afghan conflict if people knew more about it.

Another chapter in the way to teach the youngsters that Crime does pay. What difference does it make whether you work on Wall Street, the Government, or practice Law?  Yes, there are professional individuals that still adhear to a code of ethics, but with all that seems to be taking place today, it appears to me at least, that the good guys are now in the minority. So, where do we goe from here?
