“I was not elected by Democrats or Republicans but by the American people.  That is especially true because the fastest growing group of Americans are independents.  That should tell us both something.” – President Obama, 29 January 2010

The Independence party does have a certain ring to it…. Oh and I should apologize for accusing Obama of not having the balls to take on the GOP.

That one against 140 smackdown shows he has balls; like Conan wading through a crowd of sword weilding snake worshippers, and coming out unscathed.

So only now when he has lost his supermajority he wants to work with the Republicans?

And his approach is summarized as “Obama decries divisive rhetoric, says healing can happen if opponents stop being such effin d-bags”

It’s shaping up to be a long 3 years for The One.  0 said it well at the Retreat:

You’ve given yourselves very little room to work in a bipartisan fashion because what you’ve been telling your constituents is, this guy is doing all kinds of crazy stuff that’s going to destroy America.

Republicans to tie President Obama to Democratic candidates

A tactic that would have seemed far-fetched a year ago, when the new president was sworn in with a 67 percent job approval rating, is now emerging as a key component of the GOP strategy: Tie Democratic opponents to Obama and make them answer for some of the unpopular policies associated with the chief executive.

Well, we all have our perceptions of who was trying to work with whom.  It is a mixed set of perceptions.  And political calculations are not the same as valuable policy decisions.

Fox news was right to pull the plug on the broadcast since those who were called on by the President could not tell the difference between a question and a talking point from the Book of Luntz.
