Canvassing and the Election
Eric Kramer’s Observation in his Post: “Pennsylvania canvassing report.”
Eric: For those of you who are Harris supporters and looking for good news, one of my co-canvassers pointed out that we have seen no Trump canvassers and little evidence of past Trump canvass efforts (not much Trump literature on porches). And we’ve been in very mixed neighborhoods, so maybe Trump’s ground game really is in disarray, as some reports suggest. We can only hope.

AB: In an observation he draws the conclusion Trump’s campaign may be in “disarray and we can only hope so.” The Angry Bear writer Eric Kramer is working in Pennsylvania canvasing neighborhoods and promoting Presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
I did not think anything of it as Trump is not an organizer or one that plans. There are other things coming to mind.

Trump’s team is slashing Republican National Committee staff amid takeover, AP
“days after installing his new leadership team at the Republican National Committee, Donald Trump’s lieutenants are cutting dozens of staff across key departments in an aggressive move that further cements the former president’s takeover of the GOP’s political and fundraising machinery.
More than 60 people were fired in all, including senior staff in the political, data and communications departments inside the committee’s Washington headquarters. The cuts also included staff that ran the committee’s celebrated community centers, which were focused on building relationships with minority groups in some Democratic-leaning states.“

And Lara Trump? Mother Jones states “Lara Trump Is All About Meritocracy.”
The big picture: The materials describe the 2020 Trump campaign’s reach-out efforts as “inefficient,” and emphasize the campaign’s priorities of reaching more “quality” contacts in its race to the Nov. 5 election.
Trump’s team is outgunned in sheer resources: The campaign says it has about 27,000 top volunteers on the ground nationwide, and “hundreds of thousands” more in various roles in battleground states. Harris’ campaign claims to have 60,000 volunteers in Pennsylvania alone, along with hundreds of thousands more in other key states.

Axios reports, Trump’s “election integrity” plan tests his campaign
Trump’s campaign has focused more on developing an “election integrity” team of 175,000 poll workers and poll watchers nationwide, a program rooted in the ex-president’s false claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 election was fraudulent.
Trump’s campaign, like Harris’, is supported by a constellation of outside groups that help provide additional canvassing and voter registration. Trump’s team includes thousands of volunteers outside the campaign who make calls, mail materials and engage voters on platforms such as TikTok.

Summation
I do not believe for one moment Trump’s team is in disarray. There is a pattern here. A pattern in which Trump is preparing for the worst. A preparation for loosing and then disputing the loss with a well-organized group led by Lara Trump. He wants to take the presidency whether he wins or not. What better way than to confuse the election, prepare for the courts to decide, and ultimately the SCOTUS decides with a bunch shouldas.
The court decides by law and not what was supposed to be done.
So why prepare teams to canvas states when you already know you will probably not win. The reasoning is to get as close to a win so votes can be questioned or disqualified and again let the court decide. Perhaps what Eric’s crew in Pennsylvania saw was after the Trump crew abandoned the state.
Democrats need a blowout. And maybe that will happen as pundits and Repubs are throwing enough dust into the air to block reality. Money is made by misreporting what is going on in the runup to the election.

If not for the Trumpist in a Tea Party then this time would be almost a déjà vu reflecting back to 1968, albeit without the actual assassinations. We got character assassinations instead since honesty in politics disappeared before the dodo bird (which is not meant to excuse the fact that Trump is a sociopath – a far more malignant personality than a mere limousine liberal pretending to be a progressive). In 1968 I was engaged to marry my one true love while my country was deeply divided over war, labor unions, racism, abortion, immigration, and sexual orientation. Take away the sex and reproductive stuff and the same was true twenty years earlier and similarly true at most times in our illustrious history.
