Please, Southern-Brutality Culture: Leave me, and dogs, and cats, and other animals, alone. (Although you’re welcome to brutalize other animals like yourselves.)
Sorry. But this is the crowd that claims moral superiority, isn’t it?

I’m sorry, but they won’t brutalize “other animals like themselves”. They only brutalize things “Not like themselves”: Things with a different number of legs, different accents, different religions, different political beliefs, different skin colors… and it’s not just in “The South”. Oh, no, it seems pandemic to our species.
You are right to call it out. And to link that call out to pride of culture; maybe this time the people called out will listen.

Yup, that’s right, Little John. Why, OF COURSE, a woman who tried to save more animals than she had the funds and ability to save, and who did save many animals but was unable to handle the situation and some of her animals died or became ill from neglect (their water was completely frozen, on the farm, and they had insufficient food and shelter), equates to tying a dog to railroad tracks, shooting her several times, and leaving her, alive and in severe pain, on the tracks. No difference between the two situations, at all.
You’re right, Hawker Hurricane. This crowd doesn’t brutalize their own; they just brutalize everyone and everything else.
