Attacking Iran
Glen Greenwald at Salon takes aim at the media coverage concerning our relationship with Iran and the barrage of coverage having little to do with real assessments. Lots of links. But this Family Guy segment sums it up for me… Any links to some real discussiom from readers??

Pepe Escobar is one of my go – to – guys.
Iran’s real problems flow from the success of the embargo. They’re doing what they can to rally the troops and shut up the malcontents. How far they’ll go is anyone’s guess, but for now, their big strength is their upredictability. As soon as they show their hand, they are much weaker, so expect a lot more saber rattling, ambiguous and unverifiable actions.
Lt General Burgess, head of DIA, testified to a Senate committee today that Iran is unlikely to attack unless attacked, unlikely to give up on its nuclear program in response to sanctions and, for now, unlikely to be attacked by Israel. All the bloody headlines in that regard are, in this view, simply bloody headlines.
