A bleg: Request for Some Demographic Data
By Mike Kimel Hi. I’m looking for the US population aged 35 to 44 and 45 to 54 from 1929 to the present. I’m having a great deal of trouble extracting it from the Census. Does anyone have that data, ideally from a publicly available source? If so, please drop me a line at “mike” period “kimel” (one m only) at gmail.com Thanks.
A quick googling got these two that seemed to have lots of data.

I would also try the CIA Factbook. Obviously the Census Bureau is teh way to go, but you’ve tried that. And there is a blizzard of people willing to sell you the info.
Islam will change
I have a spreadsheet with the data parsed if you don’t want to do the work.
Bill McBride was just kind enough to send me this link: http://www.census.gov/statab/hist/02HS0003.xls
I think I know where the Census keeps the more recent (2000 to 2010) figures so hopefully I have what I need. I do need to find time somewhere. Might be a couple of weeks. Am swamped.
My prior comment had the website links that underly my spreadsheet, which are Census, but for some reason that comment never got posted.
