Facing Up – The Blog Carnival on the National Debt
Facing Up, the Blog Carnival about the National Debt (regular readers might recall my entry not long ago), is up with links to a bunch of posts on the $9 trillion subject.
The thing I found most interesting, but perhaps not surprising: bloggers on the right seem to feel the problem is, or rather, will be, entitlement spending. The solution they prescribe is individual responsibility – that is, reneging on promises made and keeping the money that has been collected for Social Security because in the past thirty years, Republican Presidents have chosen to increase the debt by spending that money on tax cuts and producing lower growth rates, though its never stated quite like that.
Anyway, check out the links. Some are quite interesting.
