A Problem with the Statistics

A question… if figures for violence in Iraq don’t include car bombings, would they include situations in which 19 people hijacked four passenger planes and flew them into buildings? The reason I ask…

1. If 9/11 was so important that it changed everything (as many people put it) in the US, should violence statistics for Iraq be constructed in such a way as to ignore 9/11 type events?
2. If on the other hand, such an event was counted in the violence figures for Iraq, how can car bombings not be counted?
