Food Safety

I often disagree with Craig Newmark of Newmark’s Door – now and then throughout the years we have exchanged correspondence. Here he
disagrees with Krugman’s recent piece on food poisoning, itself in response to the recent pet food poisonings. The post includes data from the CDC on the rate of foodborne disease outbreaks from the CDC, which seems to indicate a peak in 2000 and a decline in recent years. Presumably the data is accurate. So what’s responsible for the improvements in food safety? Your thoughts?
