OldVet asks: Is a Scandal More Interesting than War?

A country seeks a crisis with a powerful western nation and captures 15 of its soldiers as hostages. (Remember 1979?) Yet the public’s attention is more riveted on corruption and financial misdeeds than on the 15 soldiers it’s military just captured.

Here’s a story about one of those Axis of Evil countries and its fascination with financial crimes – by its own ruling class called Financial Criminal Captivates Teheran.

It just goes to show that people want the dirt on those running the show, no matter where they are. To me this is a healthy focus on matters at hand, and a positive sign for Iran . Or is this avoidance of a greater crisis, voyeurism or what?
