A Uniter, Not a Divider
GW ran for President promising to be “a uniter, not a divider.” Even his supporters would have to admit that this has been no better than his other promises.
Now we’re in 2006, with 2007 creeping up on us. We’re about to be treated to the spectacle of a bunch of sorry candidates running for President – both on the Dem and the Rep side. Let’s say one of them took GW’s promise from the year 2000, made it his or her own, and took it seriously. What would that candidate be telling voters? I’m sure there are some big ticket items that most on the left and the right can agree upon. What are they? (Please limit this to ideas that would work. If you say something like “Winning in Iraq” or “Reducing drug use” you should have a method of doing it that all sides can agree upon.)
