Just had an idea how self-driving cars could be a boon to cab drivers (like myself — past tense). If a human driver is needed (for a host of services, not just driving backup (our union will put ads online mirroring the back seat panic with Mel Gibson) — can you carp about the service to a computer?).
Thing is: they will have to pay us minimum wage which will have to be at least $15 an hour (2016 dollars) by then — which is a hell of a lot more than we are making today (or you’d see more American born drivers)! 🙂
Actually, J.Goodwin, I think it’s a good idea. Trump proposed either jail or the stripping of citizenship, even though the Supreme Court held flag-burning protected by the First Amendment in 1989 and ruled unconstitutional the stripping of citizenship as punishment.
Back in the ’60s, 70s and ’80s, the flag burners were Vietnam War protesters or Black Panthers or the like, and most of them voted Democratic if they voted at all.
But these days, the flag burners are the militia crowd and the Cliven Bundy guys. Heck, strip the citizenship of flag burners and Idaho might go Dem in the next presidential election. I mean, Dems will be the only few people left in the state who are still eligible to vote.
Trump may be making up the hillbilly scare of the day — specifically to distract his hillbilly crowd from the billionaire appointments he is making day after day. Worked to get him elected in the first place. BTW, hillbillies OK with me.
Little more than a Trump attempt to direct the attention of the media, and, therefore, the rest of us away from the necessary microscopic review of his awful selections for the team in transition. And at the same time keep the glare of attention on Donald Trump, the guy who will say anything, but with the conviction of a Donald Duck. Why on Earth would sensible people debate the criminal status of flag burning? In addition to Supreme Court decisions protecting the act as “free speech,” the flag is only a decorative piece of cloth.
Yes; but, HRC mishandled Secret documents on her own private server . . . and Petraeus gave Secret documents to his Mistress, the one doing a biography of him. “Whack-A-Mole” game.
Really?

Oops. Make that: ” and in 1958 ruled unconstitutional the stripping of citizenship as punishment.”
A whole other case, in a whole other era than the flag-burning thing.
