Lots of weather going on

Dan Crawford | February 9, 2013 8:49 pm

Well folks,

Lots of weather going on…about 25 inches of snow here, but fluffy.   Much worse elsewhere.  Hope everyone okay.

I saw snow for the first time in Chicago when I was four.

It was first time I knew beauty.

There were no snow plows then. No cars either. Not at first, anyway. So we could walk for miles in the snow that night.

I hope you have children or dogs who know what snow is for.

Take care and go easy on the removal. It took more than an hour to lay it down so it takes awhile to lift it off.

Driving home on Thursday in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago was ugly.

    Mike:

No sh*t on the snow traffic. Raised in Chicago and created my own family in Wood Dale and Schaumburg. Getting home from work was a bear.

I saw snow for the first time in Chicago when I was, I guess (based on the month I was born in) about five months old.

Yeah, run and I both grew up in Chicago. So I’ll join him here and pass along my sympathies, Mike. And I’ll also second your comment about beauty, Dale–although it does wear thin when it’s been on the ground for, seemingly, everrrr. Seen winters like that, growing up. Fir shure.

Glad you’re warm and cozy there, Dan. Take care. And, yeah, none of that heavy shoveling! We mean it.
